There are some weighty arguments in favor of a garage:

Security – As a garage is enclosed by walls and firmly closed with a door, it offers comprehensive protection against theft, vandalism and damage caused by animals such as martens, unlike a carport.
Additional storage space – A garage not only serves as a secure parking space for a car, it also functions – subject to the respective regional regulations – as a storage room for car accessories as well as garden and leisure utensils that need to be stored in a dry place. Parts of the garage can also be used as a mini-workshop.
Protection against extreme weather conditions – Whatever the weather, the garage offers all-round protection. It prevents storm damage caused by flying branches or hail damage in strong winds. It protects against frost in winter and ensures that the car does not heat up too much in summer.
Protection against pollution – Especially in spring, some car owners are annoyed by the heavy pollen count. However, if you can park your car in a garage, it will be spared. The garage also protects against dirt caused by bird droppings or falling leaves.
