Sustainable garages
from ZAPF

At ZAPF, protecting the environment and climate is our top priority. That's why we rely as much as possible on natural raw materials such as sand and gravel, as well as small amounts of cement and steel, in the production of our prefabricated garages. Whenever possible, these materials are sourced from regional suppliers in the vicinity of our four production sites. But our commitment to sustainability goes even further—ZAPF pursues a holistic strategy for environmentally friendly production and climate-friendly processes.

Conservation of resources & material savings

Environmentally friendly prefabricated garages

ZAPF garages are characterized by particularly thin wall diameters, which not only saves material and conserves valuable natural resources but also creates additional space. Despite the slim design, the structure of ZAPF prefabricated garages remains extremely stable thanks to a sophisticated structural design. The material mix is chosen so that ZAPF garages are particularly durable – a prime example of sustainable construction. Even minor repairs that may be necessary after 20 to 30 years can be carried out without any problems, as the garage construction is extremely robust and durable.

Accessories such as doors and door operators that ZAPF does not manufacture itself are sourced exclusively from regional suppliers who meet the same high environmental standards as ZAPF. ZAPF garages are also “e-mobility-ready” – this means that a wallbox for charging electric vehicles can be retrofitted without any problems.

In addition, almost all ZAPF garages can be fitted with an environmentally friendly green roof. This not only reduces land consumption but also creates a new habitat for plants and animals.

Recycling & energy efficiency

Sustainable production of our ZAPF garages

ZAPF prefabricated garages are manufactured in modern, energy-efficient production facilities at four locations in Germany. There, the use of energy and water is precisely controlled and used in a particularly resource-efficient manner.

To further improve the environmental balance, the plants in Dülmen and Ebenhausen have been extensively modernized. Closed-loop systems are an important part of sustainable production: the heat generated during production is used directly to dry the garages, while excess cement is not disposed of but fed back into the manufacturing process in its entirety.

In addition, all ZAPF production facilities are equipped with energy-efficient LED lighting systems to further reduce electricity consumption.

Fuel & emission reduction

Climate-friendly delivery

ZAPF garages are delivered exclusively by trucks that meet at least the Euro 6 emissions standard to minimize emissions during transport. We also ensure that our prefabricated garages are always delivered from the nearest production site to the end customer to guarantee short transportation routes and reduce emissions.

Whenever possible, particularly energy-efficient transportation methods are also used for larger orders. For example, ZAPF garages have already been transported to their destination by rail or ship on several occasions to further reduce the ecological footprint.
