Winter weather protection is not the only thing that counts…<\/h3>\n

Even the most science-critical people can no longer ignore the fact that winters in Germany are getting milder and milder. According to official sources, winter temperatures have risen by an average of 1.7 degrees in the last 140 years. That may not sound like much. But the increase has actually been particularly noticeable in recent decades. What’s more, the effects are huge. In the winters between 1902 and 1931, the city of Munich was covered in snow for an average of 41.5 days. In the last 30 years, this has only been the case on an average of 32.5 days! <\/p>\n

If the car is covered in snow or ice much less often, does it still make sense to buy a garage to park it in?<\/h3>\n

In any case. On the one hand, despite global warming, there are still more than 85 frosty days per year on average in Germany, on which vehicles parked in lanterns most likely have to be scraped free. Secondly, protection from snow or ice is not the only reason to park a car in a garage. <\/p>\n

There are many other reasons to park your car in a garage:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Storm protection:<\/strong> Even if the number of snow days is decreasing, the number of storms is increasing – all year round. If you want to protect your car from hailstorms or branches whirled around by storm winds, it is best to keep it in the garage all year round. <\/li>\n
  2. Dirt and dust protection:<\/strong> Even compact and mid-range cars today cost a good EUR 40,000 new with a little equipment. You want to protect a car of this value from paint-hostile Sahara dust, soot particles, insects, pollen or sticky aphid droppings – by storing it in a garage. <\/li>\n
  3. Theft, vandalism and burglary protection:<\/strong> A locked garage door significantly reduces the corresponding risks.<\/li>\n
  4. Protection from martens & co.:<\/strong> If these animals are kept out by a garage door, they cannot bite ignition cables.<\/li>\n
  5. Protection against hold-ups:<\/strong> In particular, if the garage door can be opened and closed by radio remote control, the risk of being robbed when getting in or out of the car is reduced.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
