The car battery is under particular strain when it is wet and cold outside. It can happen that when the ignition key is turned, nothing else happens apart from a “click”. <\/p>\n

As a rule, the car battery is repeatedly charged by the alternator while driving. The big problem in winter is that, especially on short journeys, the “energy drain” is greater than the new energy generated by the alternator. The many electric assistants in particular, such as seat heating and the like, require a lot of energy and lead to a negative charge balance. The result is clear: at some point the battery will fail. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Laden der Autobatterie in der Garage<\/h3>\n

Mit vollautomatischen Ladeger\u00e4ten kann die Autobatterie auch in der heimischen Garage wieder aufgeladen werden. Diese Ger\u00e4te sind im Baumarkt oder Tankstellen f\u00fcr geringes Geld zu haben. Lasst Euch hier gut beraten, um f\u00fcr Euer Fahrzeug das richtige Ladeger\u00e4t zu finden. Die meisten Ger\u00e4te sind inzwischen gegen Funkenbildung und Kurzschluss abgesichert und funktionieren auch bei Minus-Temperaturen.<\/p>\n

Das Ladeger\u00e4t wird dann einfach mit der Steckdose der Garage und den Polen der Batterie verbunden und schon beginnt der Ladevorgang. Bitte beachtet her die Bedienungsanleitung, um die richtige Handhabung der Anschl\u00fcsse nicht zu vertauschen.<\/p>\n

Nach einigen Stunden ist Eure Batterie wieder gut geladen und das Auto sollte wieder anspringen.<\/p>\n

Schwieriger wird es, wenn die Batterie komplett entladen ist. Das passiert gerade dann, wenn Autos \u00fcber Monate in der Garage geparkt werden, wie das z.B. bei Saisonautos oder Cabrios oft ist. Hier ist es empfehlenswert, die Batterie \u201eabzuklemmen\u201c (wer sich hier nicht auskennt, sollte das durch einen Fachmann machen lassen!), um eine Entladen zu vermeiden.<\/p>\n

No unlimited service life<\/h3>\n

However, remember that a car battery does not have an unlimited service life. Depending on the type of use (a lot of short or long distances or only summer or winter driving), the quality of the battery can fluctuate greatly or deteriorate. On average, a car battery lasts around six years. When the car battery reaches the end of its life, it can be replaced relatively inexpensively. Garages and service stations often offer a replacement battery for between \u20ac100 and \u20ac300.<\/p>\n
