A service that can make all the difference

Garages from ZAPF not only stand for quality, but also for the best service. One of these is the site manager service that the offers for its prefabricated garages. This professional support minimizes complications during the delivery and assembly of the new garage.

Installation and assembly is the final step before the new owners can use their garage. ZAPF uses so-called KTM (crane transport assembly) vehicles for this, which transport the garage from the garage factory to the installation site and set it down. The vehicles are controlled by specially trained specialists who place the garage precisely on the appropriately prepared foundations. “However, it is not always possible to use these vehicles during installation, for example if the access road is far too narrow or the ground is not designed for the weight of the trucks,” says Thomas Hofmann, Head of Construction Management at ZAPF GmbH. A crane must then also be used to lift the garage off the vehicle and set it down at the planned location.

Site manager checks access in advance

To ensure that the garage delivery runs smoothly on the due date – regardless of whether it involves a KTM vehicle or a crane – an experienced site manager visits the location in advance. He determines whether the garage and location are basically suitable for KTM. He checks the condition of the access road, whether there is enough space, whether there are any obstructions such as railings, cisterns or beams in the way, and whether the ground can bear the weight of the special vehicle. He also checks whether the prepared foundations and power and drainage lines have been installed in accordance with the requirements. If a crane has to be used in addition to the KTM vehicle, the site manager also coordinates with the crane company to find a suitable location and the optimum lifting route for the crane from the KTM vehicle to the installation site of the garage. “In the vast majority of cases, our site managers can give the all-clear and installation and assembly can be carried out without a crane and additional work,” says Hofmann. Nevertheless, it is good to know that ZAPF garage buyers can also be sure in all other situations that their garage will be delivered and installed on the agreed date and without damage, because all the necessary conditions have already been created in advance.
