New factory hall was officially opened on April 12

With the expansion of the garage plant in Baar-Ebenhausen, ZAPF GmbH aims to further expand its Upper Bavarian production site for prefabricated concrete garages. Following extensive construction work, a new factory hall was inaugurated on April 12. Around 200 guests, including numerous representatives from the regional economy and politics, as well as ZAPF employees and partners, attended the inauguration ceremony in Baar-Ebenhausen. The managing directors of ZAPF GmbH, Emmanuel Thomas and Jörg Günther, opened the new hall together with the mayor of Baar-Ebenhausen, Ludwig Wayand.

In addition to the construction of the hall, the major investment of around 5 million euros also included the expansion and modernization of the production facilities. During a tour of the plant, the guests were able to see for themselves the innovations that have been implemented. Mayor Wayand was very pleased that ZAPF wanted to further strengthen the Upper Bavarian location of Baar-Ebenhausen with the company expansion and thus also offer secure jobs for the region.

With the expansion, Managing Directors Thomas and Günther believe that the production facility in Baar-Ebenhausen, which employs around 70 people, is ideally equipped for the future. Particularly in view of the fact that the long-established company has expanded its delivery area to include the whole of Austria and Switzerland since the beginning of this year and the garages for export are manufactured in Baar-Ebenhausen.In future, the production capacity of currently around 3600 garages per year is to be increased even further. “Thanks to the modernization measures for even more efficiently coordinated work steps, we will not only achieve an increase in production, but also significant energy savings,” says Emmanuel Thomas.

With a floor area of 100 by 28 meters, the new reinforced concrete factory building is similar in size to the existing one. Both buildings were connected by a gable wall opening as part of the construction work. As part of the modernization of the production facilities, new spraying stations were also built in which the garages are plastered, painted and given a roof coating. A new graveling station for roof gravel and additional storage capacity were also created. With the purchase of an automated delivery vehicle, the transportation of garages from the factory to the storage area, which was previously handled by truck, was simplified and a new indoor crane and extendable work platforms were installed in the new hall.

The model for the plant expansion is the ZAPF plant in Dülmen, North Rhine-Westphalia, which was expanded into one of the most modern garage plants in Europe in 2016.
