Expansion of the garage plant is progressing
In the spring of this year, the groundbreaking ceremony marked the start of the expansion of the garage plant in Dülmen. An important step in the construction project has now been completed – the shells of the new production hall and a warehouse have been completed, which ZAPF GmbH celebrated together with many guests at the topping-out ceremony. The motto was team spirit.
Managing Director Emmanuel Thomas, who runs the company together with Katrin Grunert-Jäger, emphasized in his speech at the ceremony that “thanks to team spirit, many obstacles could be cleared out of the way from day one.” He praised the “constructive communication” of all those involved in the project, from the employees of ZAPF GmbH and Baugesellschaft Zabel GmbH to service providers, authorities, and offices. Bernd Tewes, the owner of the property in Dülmen, echoed the words of thanks from the ZAPF managing director and made it clear that a “project of the future” was being created here. After the speeches, the topping-out wreath was raised, foreman Michael Sochacki-Moser from Zabel delivered his topping-out speech, and the halls were christened with sparkling wine.
ZAPF GmbH supplies one in three prefabricated concrete garages in Germany, and the trend is rising. Alongside Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, North Rhine-Westphalia is one of the company’s main sales regions. In order to further strengthen the location and eliminate capacity bottlenecks, the Dülmen plant is being modernized and expanded. In the coming weeks, the new production hall will be extended, after which a state-of-the-art circulation and drying system will be installed. The centerpiece of the new building, however, will be the so-called “tilting piston formwork,” which will be installed at the end of the construction phase. These enable twice the productivity of conventional garage formwork. The production facilities in the four existing halls will also be renewed and modernized. The entire plant expansion should be completed in late fall. The ZAPF site in Dülmen will then be one of the most modern garage production facilities in the whole of Europe, where up to 6,000 prefabricated garages can be produced each year.
