Both garage door types have advantages
When it comes to choosing the right garage door for the new garage, garage buyers have two main technology options to choose from: up-and-over doors and sectional doors.
Both types of garage door have very specific advantages and disadvantages, and it is important to carefully weigh up which variant best suits your own needs, wishes and possibilities. There really is no such thing as “right” or “wrong”.

Our smart solution
With our garage configurator, you can design your garage according to your wishes in just a few clicks – from the size to the fittings.
However, if you are considering a garage door, it is best to consider more than just up-and-over or standard sectional doors – ZAPF also offers a premium sectional door, which offers decisive added value for a more than fair surcharge!
With this type of door, it is possible to bring the sectional door into a so-called “ventilation position” – the upper section of the door is tilted (without the door having to be unlocked!) so that air can be exchanged and humid (corrosion-promoting) air is replaced by drier outside air.
The premium sectional door can also be optionally equipped with the aesthetic “ZAPF Doorlight” LED forecourt lighting and the ZAPF Connect system – which allows the door’s convenience functions to be conveniently controlled via an app, among other things.
In summary, it can be said that both up-and-over doors and sectional doors have their very own advantages. If you want an easy-to-operate, low-cost door, then an up-and-over door is probably the better choice. However, if you need more space, convenience and insulation, then a sectional door may be the better choice. It is best to analyze your needs carefully and then choose the most suitable option for you.
With our garage configurator, you can easily and intuitively put together the size, fittings, doors, windows, and extras in just a few steps.
