Particularly in winter, garage floors are subject to heavy wear and tear from grit, salt, frost, ice and snow. To prevent damage from these typical winter influences, especially in older garage floors, it is advisable to follow these tips:
- Grit, stones, road salt and other materials that are carried into the garage on car tires and shoes must be swept out of the garage regularly.
- Remove ice and snow from the garage immediately, as the water it contains will damage the substance in the long term.
- Remove oil drops or stains immediately, otherwise they will “eat” into the floor.
However, if the garage floor is already very badly damaged and is showing the first signs of lasting damage, it makes sense to have this damage repaired in the short term to prevent the damage from getting worse.
