If ventilation is no longer enough, what can you do to prevent mold in the garage?
A garage goes through a lot: Heat, then cool temperatures and then rain again… That’s why it’s important to keep the garage ventilated, as mold and mildew stains can form as a result of excessive humidity.
Shock ventilation is the best way to prevent this. To do this, the garage door and any doors or windows should be opened wide for several minutes a day. This keeps the humidity in the garage low. However, this is sometimes a little difficult, as you don’t usually stay in the garage for long periods of time, but only get in and out of the car.
If minor mildew and mold stains have formed, the following “household remedies” may be useful:
First remove the mold from the affected areas with high-proof alcohol and then treat the surfaces with mold spray. After a drying period, the areas can then be repainted with an anti-mold paint.

However, if the garage is heavily infested with mold, a professional garage renovation should definitely be considered.
