Mold growth on the walls of a garage is very unpleasant and a serious warning sign. This means that mold spores, which are found almost everywhere in the air, find an ideal environment with the best living conditions here. This results in this visible, dirty-looking coating on the walls of the garage. It needs to be removed and, above all, the causes discovered.
Mould metabolizes organic substances. Dust and dirt residues are just as much a part of this as floor coverings, wall coatings, wallpaper and plasterboard. This is the food and the absolute growth factor for mold growth on the walls is moisture. This can be in the building fabric itself or caused by inadequate ventilation and condensation. Pipe damage, blocked drains and gutters as well as leaks in the roof also encourage mold growth on the walls.

The mold coating can first be removed superficially with a spatula and brush. A commercially available mold remover can then be used by spraying it several times on the affected areas, allowing it to act according to the instructions and then wiping everything off with a cloth. It is now important to ensure adequate ventilation and complete drying of the affected areas, for example with dehumidifiers or a warm air treatment.
Our smart solution
With our garage configurator, you can design your garage according to your wishes in just a few clicks – from the size to the fittings.
To prevent mold from forming on the walls, it is now time to get to grips with the moisture. The first point to check is the ventilation slots installed on site. These are located in the garage door and usually at a higher point in the masonry or concrete parts of a prefabricated garage. The next step is to check the existing drainage pipes, water pipes and heating systems. Cleanliness and hygiene should be a matter of course. Once all this has been done, mold growth on the walls will have stopped. In addition, regular ventilation by opening existing windows, gates or doors increases the likelihood of a permanently mold-free garage.
With our garage configurator, you can easily and intuitively put together the size, fittings, doors, windows, and extras in just a few steps.
