The bottom line is therefore that retrofitting greenery to an old garage roof really makes sense. Both from an environmental and functional point of view. The decisive factor is whether the roof load of the old garage is sufficient for a green roof. This is because the roof substructure must, of course, be able to reliably and permanently support the special structure for the green roof (and the precipitation stored in it)!
