In many cases, the problem with these flying construction teams is the quality of the workmanship. In fact, some of them are not professionals, but semi-skilled laborers – and the materials used do not necessarily meet the requirements of German builders. In some cases – the police repeatedly report such cases – the actual renovation work is not even started, but only a relatively high deposit is collected and then the work is abandoned. If work is carried out after all, the client is often left with defective workmanship, which is usually impossible to rectify because the flying construction crews can hardly be reached later.
In addition, the work is often carried out “illegally”, i.e. without an official invoice – which of course makes the question of liability even more difficult. Quite apart from this, undeclared work is a punishable offense in Germany – and if someone is injured on the construction site, the client could also be held liable!
