First the foundation – then the assembly

Before a garage can be erected, the base – in the form of a garage foundation – must first be right. However, there are a few things to consider to ensure that the private garage will later stand on a durable and secure foundation. For this reason, ZAPF produces a special foundation plan for every garage. This plan details which foundation is required for the garage of your choice.

Laying the foundation – by ZAPF or by yourself?

As a rule, the foundation for the garage is also laid by ZAPF. In many regions of Germany, however, it is also possible to have the foundations laid either by yourself or by a local contractor. However, if the foundation work is carried out in-house or by an external contractor, the construction team must adhere 1:1 to the foundation plan drawn up by ZAPF. This will be sent to each customer on request with all detailed information.

Which foundation for which garage?

Which foundation is right for your garage depends on the type of garage you choose. For prefabricated concrete garages, so-called point strip or strip foundations are usually sufficient.

Decisive for all foundation types:

Sufficient load-bearing capacity
Fixed alignment
Correct leveling (minimum slope due to drainage)
approx. 1 meter depth (to achieve a frost-free soil layer)
As a rule, a drain for roof drainage must also be provided

ZAPF site manager service for smooth installation

The site manager inspection is a special ZAPF service that ensures that the new prefabricated garage can be delivered and installed without any problems. An experienced ZAPF site manager inspects each garage site 3 to 4 weeks before the garage assembly date to ensure problem-free delivery and assembly of the new prefabricated garage.

In doing so, he checks:

The access road so that the skip loader or mobile crane can drive up to the garage site unhindered and place the garage precisely on the finished foundation.
The power and drainage connections to ensure that all functions of the garage can be put into operation immediately.
The foundation, which must correctly correspond to the foundation plan in every detail.
