Electric garage door opener: transmitter, receiver, power connection, electric motor drive unit
These four modules form the basic technology – and the functional principle is actually quite straightforward: the garage owner transmits an encrypted signal via a transmitter to the garage door opener’s receiver unit, which is located in the garage (i.e. protected from potential thieves) directly on the electric motor drive unit, where it controls the motor to open or close the garage door. Old garages can generally be retrofitted with these garage door opener modules!
The good news for owners of old garages is that the modules shown – like many other garage accessories – can generally also be retrofitted to garages that are already a few years old! And also important for “retrofitters” to know:
